OVERVIEW

A Better Carnauba Wax System for a Better Gloss.

Werkstat Carnauba Jett is the result of thinking outside the norms of what an automotive wax must be. Our result: a high content micro-emulsified refined carnauba in a waterbourne base free of the solvents, fillers, abrasives, silicones, and oils found in common products. Your result: the pure, warm, and smooth gloss of carnauba in a sprayable and unusually durable form.

After all of these years, carnauba wax is still a dominant force in high end paint detailing. Why? Certainly it is not for durability. Synthetic sealants, like our own Acrylic Jett, are superior. No, Carnauba is still with us because it possesses a unique look and feel that is, as yet, unmatched by any synthetic. There is a subtlety and lusciousness in the appearance of a superior quality carnauba. It’s not necessarily a better look, simply a different look.

Unfortunately, much of what is advertised as carnauba these days is very far from it. Many of these products contain exceptionally small amounts of pure carnauba, and it becomes overpowered by the petroleum solvents, fillers, oils, silicones, and synthetic waxes. While none of these ingredients is necessarily bad, they certainly are not carnauba.

Here at the Werkstat, we stopped for a moment to consider the possibility of a pure carnauba wax product that possessed no harsh petroleum solvents, was easy to apply for a clear and streak-free gloss, and presented the pure look of carnauba, with outstanding depth, color, and clarity.

A better application method for a better Carnauba wax

Up until now, the waxing process essentially consisted of over-applying the wax and then trying to remove the excess to form a smooth, reflective coating. Petroleum solvents dissolved the wax in a spreadable form by stopping the individual molecules from bonding together. Once they evaporated, a “rough” wax surface was left behind that was hazy and dull, needing to be buffed smooth to develop shine and reflectance. Unfortunately, that final buffing step can be a real bear. Carnauba is the hardest natural wax in the world. Once in place, it is hesitant to move! Polishing powders and silicones were added to help in this leveling action.

We felt there might be a better way.

We found it by thinking outside the box about the waxing process. We figured, why not get the wax applied correctly in the first place and avoid all the unnecessary work-arounds used in typical product formulations.

Carnauba Jett is the result of that innovative thinking: a sprayable high-content carnauba wax that is applied and buffed in one continuous, additive action.

We developed a process to take natural prime #1 yellow carnauba, the highest grade, and distribute it within a water base rather than a petroleum base. This high-content, low-viscosity carnauba slurry can then be sprayed directly onto the surface for faster, easier application. As the C.Jett is spread across the paint with a quality microfiber towel, this carnauba slurry begins to break down. Since the individual wax molecules are naturally hydrophobic, they have a much higher affinity for the paint surface than for the water. They plate themselves to the surface while the light buffing action of the towel continually builds and levels a smooth, uniform wax coating.

Conclusion

Carnauba Jett steps apart from the crowd with an environmentally friendly, waterbourne formula for the purest and most user-friendly carnauba automotive wax available.

Don’t change to be different… change to be better.

DIRECTIONS

1. PREPARE: Shake well. Surface should be cool and clean.

2. SPRAY a light coat of Jett onto the vehicle. Less is more.

3. SPREAD lightly over a small area with a microfiber towel.

4. BUFF into paint using light pressure on the towel until the surface is clear and haze free. Flip to the dry side of the towel on the final pass for perfect results.
